Anti-Malware support
Hi all,
Thanks for the Founder invitation to the F-secure Community, which has great promise and will be a valued resource for all that use it.
I notice that users seem a bit limited on the categories and threads that they can post any questions. One good example is this post where it does not fall into current topics but suited more to a feedback and/or a general topic/category.
Next, Will F-Secure be offering a free malware removal service within these community forums or at least guides for stubborn malware that people can follow to help clean their system?
Will end here for the moment. Don't want to go too far at such an early stage and my first post
Regards Issviews

Hi Issviews!
We are really glad you joined and shared your thoughts here!
Our Community structure is indeed compact right now. It will grow in time as we see what subjects You and all of the Community Members are interested in discussing. So thank you for the suggestion, I agree that we are missing a designated place for feedback and you will be seeing that board very soon.
About the malware removal: we are trying our best to help users in this Community. If you have some malware-related questions, the best place to post is here, in the Protection board. You will be advised on how to deal with the problem.
It is, of course, free but it is not a "malware removal service" by nature. If your question/problem can not be solved here, our support services are free for all F-Secure users.
Thank you for posting!

Hi AniaC
Thank you for the welcome and the the inclusion (soon) of a feedback thread.
i note that F-Secure do have a forum platform. How does the community side fit in with that? I am cnfused why there should be two areas to obtain support! Have I missed something?
About the malware removal side explanation. Thanks for your feedback on this but I should have been more specific. Will there be help offered other than simply going through the actions of running F-Secure software in safe mode etc., using recognised tools to help direct a user to clean their system, ie: combofix, HJT, peper fix, etc? This type of support (although can be lengthy) is a valuable asset to general users and increasing in popularity with many well known sites offering this service (Geeks2go, Bleeping computer, MBAM etc.) I ask as I feel this service would be highly beneficial for customers using your software.

Hi yeungmic, hi IssViews,
thanks for your question.
@yeungmic: I moved your question over as its simply fitting better in here.
The new community is planned to supersede our old forum. Therefore keep on going and ask your questions or give your comments in here instead of doing so in the old forum.

Thanks Patrick for the clarification thie community forum supersedes the old F-Secure forums.
I did not get an answer for my previous question! Are you able to provide some info relating to this?

Hi IssViews,
Sadly I can not specify which tools we will be using and how far we will go and be able to help with malware removal in the community.
We will certainly do our best and go the extra mile to make sure our customers are protected.
As we just started this Community, I think we will have to see what is possible here and what must be handled through our traditional support channels.
However, yes, we do want to offer more advise than just "run our scanner and see what it says"
So, if you, or anyone else requires assistance, please do not hesitate to use the community!
Best regards,
Stephan

Thanks for answering my question. How about the F-Secure Beta forum for FS Backup? Will it become a part of the new forum?
The beta feedback systems at https://beta.f-secure.com/ are separate from this F-Secure Community. They will be kept separate in the future as well.
