What is password protected mfgstat.zip in Win8?

I have Lenovo laptop with Win8 and at first I used free trial of McAfee Security. Then I installed F-Secure and removed McAfee, which never found any viruses in my computer. Then I scanned the computer with F-Secure and it reported, that it cannot check a password protected zip-file in c:\windows\mfgstat.zip.

 

The file mfgstat.zip contains about 50 files in it. I can see the names of the files, but I can't open the zip (and the F-Secure can't scan it).  This whole file was created in August 2013, and I bought this laptop in December.

 

Does anyone know what this password protected file could be? What should I do about it? It seems odd..

It seems the file is a leftover from McAfee. Did you run the full McAfee uninstaller? If not, it might be worth a try, and you'll find it here:

Thanks for your reply, Simon. I thought it did run the full uninstaller, but I guess it failed. Thank you for the link!
