How do i switch protection off and also, how can I set exceptions for areas

I am evaluating the AV for Mac and using it on Lion 10.7.2 and am experiencing some problems with java applets loading extremely slowly.

 

It has been suggested to me by Apple support that this could be an AV solution scanning the appets as archives as they are contained in ZIP files.

 

IS there a way of setting exceptions and also temporarily switching off protection to see if it is indeed AV protection that is causing this.

Hi JayS,

Please try the steps below:
- Logon Admin user.
- Go > Utilities > Terminal.

To Disable:
sudo launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.f-secure.fsavd.plist

To Re-enable:
sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.f-secure.fsavd.plist
