Is there option to really disable 'realtime protection network'?

So, as everyone knows F-Secure collects all kinds of data, program usage patterns, web site visit counts etc. from your computer which it then sells to its partners and goverment entities. All of this is of course stated on EULA/Helpfiles along with mention that you cannot disable such information gathering even as there is fake opt out button for 'realtime protection network' spyware. However is there any hidden way to really opt out from this or should I discard considering using F-Secure alltogether?

Please refer to this article, it specifically comments on the privacy issues of the service and explain how the service works.

To disable "Real-time Protection Network":
- Open F-Secure Launchpad
- Right click F-Secure > Open common settings > Other > Privacy.
- Clear the checkbox for "Yes, I want to participate in the Real-time Protection Network".
