Does anyone have a firewire to USB 2.0 adapter solution?

I have a SONY DVR-VX1000 and VX2000 and I am firing up my mac but I wanted to try and capture and play with some videos on my PC. I have no way to capture videos from my Firewire interface on my old two 3chip cameras. If I have a crap laptop that can barely do video work which I have maxed out the ram on to 8 gigs. I want to try windows on it. Sourceforge even has free video editing programs well how well they work who knows.
