Internet Security 2013 Google Search Site Safety Indication Not Working Correctly

Hello,

I have recently purchased F-Secure 2013 and the website indication on Google searches does not display in Google Chrome normally.

However, if I use Incognito Mode in Google Chrome and search via Google, it does work.

The only extension I have installed is Ad Block, and I tried disabling it but it makes no difference.

Does anyone have any advice or knowledge on why this may be?

Thanks for any help.

    Thanks for your reply.

You were right, my original session was https, but the incognito session was not, which confused me!

How do I check if searches uses Https?

  • Hello Ajs,

To check if the search is using HTTPS, you can for one check for the lock icon in the address field on the browser or simply check the address itself.

    e.g. https://www.google.fi/search?q

I hope that clarifies it for you.

    Hello Ben

    Thanks for your reply.

The Search Site Saftey Indication has recently stopped working using Google Search engine, whether I use HTTPS or HTTP, however It works fine with Yahoo & Bing Search engines which appear only to use HTTP.

My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit - and the problem occurs using either Internet Explorer 10 or Firefox 20.0.1.

The F-Secure product I am using is supplied by my Internet Service provider as part of my Broadband package.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

    Best Regards - Andrew

  • Hello Ajs,

In order to investigate further what might be causing the rating icon not to be present in Google searches, I would advise you to contact your ISP support. They will be able to help troubleshoot further the issue, and confirm if the version your ISP is supplying to you is working as should or not.

    Thank you.

This isn't working for us either. First of all it stopped working for https searches, and then more recently http ones failed to show the safe indicators as well. We're using Internet Security 2013 purchased online from F-Secure directly. The problem is the same on a computer using Windows XP with Firefox 20, and another with Windows Vista and just updated to Firefox 21.

  • Hello DP,

Could you please open a support ticket, so that we can investigate further what is going on on your machine?

Please provide an fsdiag of the machine when opening the support ticket.

Since when did the problem start with HTTP searches?

I have exactly the same problem. When searching with Yahoo or Bing. Browsing Protection works just fine.

When I use google as I do most of the time nothing happens.

I understand that this matter is already under inevestigation. Are there any results yet ?
