F-Secure internet security 2012 causes global system crash when using Opera browser

Hi

After several months of tracking, it has become clear that F-Secure Internet Security 2012 is causing global system freeze (i.e. system not responding at all and a hard reboot is necesary) after a few hours of using the Opera browser.

You can see the thread on the Opera community website here: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=1367822

Several people (including myself) have solved the problem by  reverting to version 2011.

This may be related to another bug that was fixed earlier this year (http://community.f-secure.com/t5/Protection-Safe/Please-FIX-this-bug-with-Opera/m-p/4869/highlight/true#M969)

Same problem I encountered. I have just installed Opera browser a week before, but when I get this problem, I uninstall it right away. However, I can't view the link on Opera forum. image

I have the same problem - global system freeze while using Opera with F-Secure 2012. The problem appeared after the update from 2011 was made.

It would be nice if someone of F-Secure could take a closer look at this problem. Please take the link from the Opera-community Pouet posted above, since we are quite sure that the problem is caused by F-Secure.

Please let us know if you have further quesions.

    Hello,

Please try out the F-Secure 2013 Technology Preview beta version! The method of protecting browsers and evaluating web traffic has been completely changed between F-Secure 2012 and 2013, by introducing a browser-neutral method in Windows.

Best regards: Tamas Feher from Hungary.
