hi,

few days ago i performed a clean instal of Win11 Pro on my two machines using Rufus (unsupported Hardware). Currently im running F-Secure Total Security on both machines.

Now i'd like to instal Malwarebytes Antimalware and use its Real Time Protection.

Is it possible to run F-Secure *AND* Malwarebytes Antimalware with the

'Real Time Protection' turned on ?

thx

    Hello @zer0siX , Andy

IMO, I would say let F-Secure run unhindered by itself, and if desired only use MBAM free version as an occasional 2nd opinion scanner, having it disabled from Windows start up and from running in real time. But, even with that, it may have some background running processes that could cause a conflict somewhere or sometime down the road? Also, if you used Rufus to install Windows 11 on unsupported PC's, possibly causing other compatibly, driver, etc. issues as well?

There may be options regarding adding into Exclusions this file or that file for compatibility, but I've never been a fan of forcing two security apps to try to work together. I've always been more of the occasional on-demand 2nd opinion scan type using, Norton Power Eraser, and depending on your politics and location, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, or ESET online scanner, or Emisoft EEK. All of which will not leave any background processes running when they're done. The default one I use, is Norton Power Eraser.

Again, this just may be me, and you may get a reply that will show you how to allow it, or confirming what I just mentioned?

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for your question.

Running two security products with real-time protection enabled at the same time is not recommended. F-Secure Total already includes real-time antivirus, behavior monitoring, and web protection. Enabling Malwarebytes’ Real-Time Protection alongside F-Secure can lead to conflicts such as:

    • System slowdowns
    • False positives
    • Scanning loops or stability issues

If you’d like to keep Malwarebytes installed, the supported approach is:

    • Use F-Secure Total as your primary real-time protection
    • Run Malwarebytes as an on-demand scanner only (disable its real-time protection modules)

This setup avoids conflicts while still allowing you to occasionally scan with Malwarebytes for a second opinion.

Since you’re also running Windows 11 on unsupported hardware, avoiding overlapping security drivers is especially important for system stability.

If you have any other questions or need guidance on configuring this safely, feel free to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Chameni
