What may be the problem the virus database fails?

    Hello,

    There are three points:

one - because a solution is used for a system that is no longer supported.

// for example, if your system is Windows 7 or 32-bit Windows 10 and F-Secure was installed here earlier than their EoL. Such as, for Windows 10 32-bit "currently installed versions will continue to receive virus database updates until May 31, 2025". If so, then most likely the software would notify about the reasons and the like.

second - there are some problems with the network.

// like something wrong with configuration (proxy, firewall, any other conflicting software), you is blocked for whatever reason from receiving updates from servers or your ISP preventing connection to servers. Or anything else. The solution would be to try to make sure everything is good with other applications, or try reinstalling F-Secure.

third - there is a current problem that has not quite clear causes and solutions.

// if so, then most often it is also accompanied by "Device Restart" request. You can try browse at https://community.f-secure.com/en/categories/total where some topics about this type of trouble.

    So,

The update of the virus updates fails

could you please tell a little more about your situation? In particular, what operating system, what F-Secure solution are you using? Have you received updates before? When did the problem appear? Or have you just installed the solution?

Are you prompted to reboot your device because of some problem detected? Or do you just see the UI showing that the update check has gone into "failed" status?

Known things to "check" are the absence of third-party AV software or any potentially conflicting solution, the absence of any network-specific settings in the system or firewall, and so on.

But it would be better to start with the basics.
