    Here’s the clean way to uninstall F-Secure from a Windows PC:

    1. Try the normal uninstall first

    1. Close F-Secure completely — right-click its icon in the taskbar → Exit or Close.
    2. Press Windows key + R, (run)type:
    3. appwiz.cpl …and press Enter (this opens Programs and Features).
    4. In the list, find F-Secure Total (or your F-Secure product).
    5. Click it → Uninstall → follow the prompts.
    6. Restart your PC.

    2. If normal uninstall fails or leaves leftovers(very likely) F-Secure provides a special uninstall tool to completely remove all components.

    • Download it from F-Secure’s official site:

    • Run the tool as Administrator.
    • Follow the instructions and reboot when prompted.

    Extra notes

    • If you have F-Secure as part of your ISP’s security package (e.g., Elisa Turvapaketti), uninstalling may require also removing the ISP-specific wrapper.
    • After uninstalling, Windows Defender should automatically re-enable itself — no need to manually turn it on. "
