Critical error, keeps telling me to restart my PC

Since this morning I keep getting a message telling me that my device is not protected and I need to re-start. When I do it appears to work fine for a while then does it again.

Looking at the update screen update history it seems that the device protection update received today failed to load.

Running a manual update check comes up as not successful and I cannot run a manual virus scan either.

    I have re-installed and it seems to be working at the moment. On installation a message did come up saying there was a conflict with a program but it eliminated it before I could investigate.

    I have fingers crossed.
