Hello,
Today I tried to use F-Secure Online Scanner, but it didn't work on the tested system (fs protection is running 'fine' here).
Routine was like:
- downloaded and ran executable.
- looked at the welcome screen (read the terms and privacy description - which, by the way, may still be about the previous one, although it may just be too generic), checked the box to share optional information and started the "process".
- it went to 'installing', 'installing', 'almost done' stages in a relatively decent amount of time, respectively installing the required SDK.
- then scan is 'started' - 0% and failed to 'Something went wrong' (try again later.);
- did use "Close" button, decided to run original executable again. either nothing happens or I then re-tried again and saw screen with 'Restart required'
(You need to restart your computer to continue. Remember to save your work.); - did use "Restart" button, but it didn't happen.
After a manual restart, decided to re-try the whole routine: the result is the same.
But I think that after initial "Close" button - SDK/EPP is triggered to be uninstalled. So, there was no point to try re-run it as original executable or from F-Secure Online Scanner folder.
So, sounds as epp_installer.exe did the job, but then something went wrong. In some random log file, there are such pieces:

Can you take fsdiag and send it to Windows beta program address. Online Scanner can not work on a system that has F-Secure product with Device Protection running. You should not have been able to run it when you have fs protection installed, you should see an error dialog instead.

Yes, I probably wrote it very clumsy and unclear.
by phrase: ""it didn't work on the tested system (fs protection is running 'fine' here).""
I meant that before and after trying to launch/using Online Scanner - on the same system I can use fs protection. When fs protection is installed - trying to use Online Scanner would give a corresponding message (something like "another solution is already in use").
before I tried to run Online Scanner and the whole described experience was after fs protection uninstallation and further clean up.
Then, after failure with Online Scanner - I reinstalled fs protection (working 'fine' in the system;; both - before and after uninstallation). Meaning: system is capable to run fs protection; but somehow failed to run Online Scanner.
I meant something like this.
