F-Secure 25.2 Error after updating to the latest version

Hello!

Yesterday My F-Secure Internet Security was upgraded to the latest 25.2 version. After the update it keeps getting error messages as shown in the attached picture. "An error has been encountered and the device needs to be restarted".

If I restart my PC everything seems to be okay for ~20-25 mins, but after that, the same message appears. Also, app history reports that the fshoster64.exe needed 45 sec to start, when under normal circumstances -and before the update- it required only a few seconds to start.

I've read here that restarting the F-Secure Hoster service solves the problem, but it is a temporary solution too, the error is appearing after the aforementioned time. I've also attached the fsdiag report which was taken after the error message appeared last time

Is there any solution for this problem? Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: PII removed

If the problem continues, we recommend using the Uninstallation Tool to completely remove the app before reinstalling it. For detailed instructions, please refer to this article: How to uninstall F-Secure products using the Uninstallation Tool for Windows?

    Hello,

I have the same problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn´t solve the problem. I tried, but f-sercure still asks for a restart.

    Dear @Firmy !

Thank You for your response. Sadly neither the reinstallation or the service restart(s) won't solved my problem. Because of this, I've reinstalled my old security solution from an another developer. But I have 2 fsdiag files which were taken after the aformentioned error(s) happened. If I could help solve this error with these files, I would kindly send them to You or the developers. Can you give me an email adress where I can mail them.

Best regards, and have a wonderful day!

    Hello @mericsistvan

Thank you for your cooperation. We have received and reviewed your fsdiag files.

Our analysis indicates that there is conflicting software on your PC. Kaspersky is currently installed alongside F-Secure. To avoid compatibility issues, we strongly recommend having only one antivirus solution on your machine. If you wish to continue using F-Secure, please uninstall Kaspersky and restart your computer.

If the issue persists after restarting, kindly generate a new fsdiag and share it with us so we can further investigate.

Let us know if you need any assistance. Thank you, and have a wonderful day.

I have the exact same problem. How are you guys not putting out a hotfix with all these people telling you that your update is broken?

Uninstalling and reinstalling is not an option!

I updated the program to 25.2 normally, but then the virus database update failed.
I released the existing device authorization, re-logged into the program, and updated the virus database normally.

It really is as simple as Debby wrote. Release the license and then re-register the PC with F-Secure.
Previously, the Device Protection installer gave an error message at 42%.
    After that the update worked
