Hi, this may be basic but should I have Windows Defender switched on as well as F-secure? Will one interfere with the other?

    Hello,

(as such) It should be impossible to use Microsoft Defender and F-Secure (security) solution together on Windows machine.

However, this is more about capabilities such as real-time scanning and generally functioning as an AV solution. When the F-Secure solution is installed, Microsoft Defender is disabled. More precisely, this should happen after installing F-Secure software (Microsoft Defender Antivirus disables itself).

BUT, then Microsoft Defender can be configured in Windows Security Center as an additional tool in some situations. This is about such an option as limited periodic scanning (Enable the limited periodic Microsoft Defender Antivirus scanning feature - Microsoft Defender for Endpoint | Microsoft Learn). And in addition to this (or simply as a fact), you can use other features of the Windows Security Center (SmartScreen for the browser / applications, exploit protection and other things that do not directly related to Microsoft Defender).

If the F-Secure security solution is uninstalled, Microsoft Defender is activated / will automatically turn back on.

    Thanks!
