Switching WIFI blocks connectivity (MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1)

Hi,

I have recently installed the F-secure package branded "Elisa tietoturva" Version 19.9 (63790).

When moving from home to work, I open the computer and the Chrome browser and Google drive have no access to the internet. When I reboot the computer, the connectivity returns. Same happens when going from work to home.

Hi, It sounds to me it is the VPN getting involved & checking & noticing it is a Different Web address then when it checks that you are on a "known" address it then lets it through. My iPhone never has problems with F-Secure but my MacBook on Sequoia 15.2 OS. I find in general the support or reliability with MacOS platforms seems to be sketchy at best, I was told over 10-11 months ago that my Mac only checking the HDD to 50% would be supported in an update and would then be alright, then 2updates of F-Secure since to no avail, also Apple updates Sonoma and then Sequoia as well but no change. I think I'll wait until the next update then cancel as I don't know what is or isn't getting scanned.

    Hello,

    Just as a reference.

I think there is a very similar topic being discussed there: https://community.f-secure.com/en/discussion/128834/f-secure-blocks-internet-on-wifi-network-switch-macos-sonoma

the original theme of discussions is related to things like (from this topic):

    — MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1

    — home → work / work → home

    — Wi-Fi connection

    — recently installed F-Secure solution

Other browsers are discussed in the mentioned topic.
As well as there was no mention of known problems with applications (other than browsers). And there didn't seem to be much of a solution there; because the problem itself disappeared (as of the last comment from the OP). And also as workaround for you or as a difference from your situation - it helped the author of that topic to turn wi-fi on and off, rather than reboot the entire computer.

So, if the problem is still relevant, then in this comment @ArthurVal (https://community.f-secure.com/en/discussion/comment/139070/#Comment_139070) tried to ask several troubleshoot questions that can also help to know in your situation.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up but I've got a feeling that Apple have tried to make this MAC address switching into a security feature but it seems to not be helping on top of the scanning problems, it is a fast business Computer Security, it's a shame there isn't any cooperation between Apple, Windows & F-Secure we all want secure information but there's too much money at stake & each Company is more tuned into income & that will always be the main motivation & what stops lots of things in life from fruition.
