How to Configure HTTP Proxy for FS Protection on Windows?
Hello,
I am currently using F-Secure Protection for Windows and would like to configure an HTTP proxy to ensure that all network traffic is routed through it. Could anyone guide me on how to properly set up an HTTP proxy within FS Protection on a Windows system?
Specifically, I would like to know:
- Which settings or configurations in FS Protection need to be adjusted for HTTP proxy support?
- Any potential issues or troubleshooting tips when using a proxy with FS Protection?
- Are there any known compatibility concerns with specific proxy types or configurations?
Thanks so much.

The product uses proxies set for Windows by user automatically and there is no separate configuration in the product for proxy. You can configure Windows proxy in many ways:
- Set the default proxy from command-line with: netsh set proxy <address>
- Automatic configuration from network using WPAD protocol
- Open System Settings and configure proxy here, but note that this is Windows user specific and product might not use it always.
Regardless of where you have configured proxy, or maybe you have configured proxy in many places, the product will try all of these proxies and also direct connection without proxy. Once it finds a way that works for connectivity, it will stick to it until it stops working. So if you have a working direct connectivity, it's unlikely that the product would use any proxy even if you set one.
