Major issues with web browsing using VPN

Hey Support,

I have some major issues regarding the browsing using total freedom VPN when used from a Windows 11 platform. The ICMP and the OS level are always fine but when it comes to browsing it stalls heavily. If you happen to operate some kind of the whole VPN cloud of yours there might be quite heavily overwhelmed. I’m not sure how the architecture is designed but from a customer point of view it’s nearly unbearable.. The fun part is observable through Windows 11 and not on my MacBook which works pretty fine so I’m not sure if a client side issue or if it’s an S level issue it’s a cashing I’m quite puzzled to you so if you can help me out, that would be most Terrific.

Cheers

Rob

    Hello,

Sorry for my reply. I am also only an F-Secure user.

If, as I understand, problems only occur in the browser (and in this case - Windows for now) - then maybe your situation falls under the well-known temporary limitation: https://www.kb.f-secure.com/s/article/Windows-MacOS-I-cannot-connect-to-the-internet-using-Edge-Chrome-or-Firefox-while-the-F-Secure-VPN-is-turned-ON?language=en_US

based on utilising still experimental TLS 1.3 in browser settings. Some browsers may enable it by default at a random time for certain part of users.

could you try to check this point? The suggested workaround is described in the mentioned KB article. however, I might alsosuggest just searching for 'tls 1.3' or 'kyber' keywords in places like "flags" / "config" in your browser of choice (say, for Microsoft Edge: edge://flags).

Nevertheless, all situations may differ and I tried to speculate on this subject in the following topic:

    Thanks!
