There is a rumor that DeepGuard and other protections are being discontinued and being replaced with Avira technologies.

Is this true?

What are the EXACT changes in protection features that are expected beginning with version 19.9 forward?

    Hello,

Thank you for your post and comments.

F-Secure products use multiple prevention and detection technologies, including some functionality based in part on 3rd party vendor-provided capabilities. Please find more information about our privacy policy and data sharing in our Privacy Statement. We cannot comment further on current and planned vendors used for specific functionalities within the F-Secure Total product. Any changes in future releases will be announced as part of release notes according to our standard practices.

Thank you and have a good day.

I might add to the topic. You used to have the Bitdefender engine and you replaced it with Avira.

And what about the Avira engine now that NortonLifeLock, which also owns Norton and Avast, has become their owner? Will there be changes in Fsecure because of this?

And is that part of the VPN issue(s), when Freedome was discontinued (well sort of) that F-Secure Total has the VPN in the app, just like Avira, merging into the same technology and also using the Amazon servers?

But, at this point everything is just speculation, until we know more. My life has so much more going on than an AV :) So as for me, in Star Wars parlance, "nothing to see here, move along". :)
