Why did an update come suddently?

I completely freaked out when I did a virus scan of the whole computer and it kept throwing me out of f-secure, why hadn't there been a notification to update first?

    Hello @Jamarionsan ,

    thank you for contacting us.

    The updates usually happen in the background therefore you might have not received a notification about it. However, if there are any missing updates, you will see immediately on the start page of the program that there is a an action required, for example. Please also make sure that your Windows is up to date so that the program can install the updates without any problems.
