I have a problem with PDF files freezing. After many different tests,
I uninstalled f-secure. And then everything worked normally.
So there are some "Bugs" in f-secure that create problems.
I installed f-secure 2017 when I bought a new Laptop.
The problems have started after all new things that are probably supposed to be fine.
But the last 1.5 years, a lot of problems. What do we do about the problems?

    Hello @Ojharde_09 ,

    Thank you for your post.

Most likely, in your case, the problem is that F-Secure is not blocking the pdf files themselves versus the program you use to open them.

Please check what program you are using to open pdf files.

Sometimes DeepGuard may prevent a safe application from running, even if you want to use the application and know it to be safe. This happens because the application tries to make system changes that might be potentially harmful. You may also have blocked the application unintentionally when a DeepGuard pop-up has been shown.

To allow an application that DeepGuard has blocked:

    1.    Open the F-Secure app.

    2.    On the main view, select Viruses & Threats.

    3.    On the Viruses and Threats view, select App and file control.

Note: You need administrative rights to access these settings.

    4.    Select the Blocked tab.

This shows you a list of the applications that DeepGuard has blocked.

    5.    Find the application that you want to allow and select Allow.

    6.    Select Yes to confirm that you want to allow the application.

The selected application is added to the Excluded list, and DeepGuard allows the application to make system changes again.

If this program has not previously appeared in the Blocked tab, you can add it manually in the Excluded tab.

I hope you find this information helpful.

    Have a great day.

    Pawel

    Hi Pawel
I think I'm on target, with both Adobe and f-secure.
Your information was very helpful in terms of modifying f-secure.
Also, with help from Adobe, I uninstalled Acrobat Pro.
Reinstalled, and now for the moment, both programs seem to work fine with each other.
    Thanks for your helpful support.

    Hei Pawel
    Takker for din nyttige support.

    New challenge!

I am going to install a new printer, Epson Ecotank.
I can't get past the firewalls on the PC, it's probably f-secure that's stopping it.
How do I pause f.secure so I can install the printer?

    Hello,

New challenge! I am going to install a new printer, Epson Ecotank. I can't get past the firewalls on the PC, it's probably f-secure that's stopping it. How do I pause f.secure so I can install the printer?

Current F-Secure home solutions do utilize a built-in firewall (Windows platform).

So, if you think "you can't get past the firewalls on the PC" - need to check its default Windows Firewall setting.

However, what is indication of 'trouble' with installing printer (drivers?) for Epson Ecotank? Is there 'stuck' at a certain stage of installation? Or connection is prevented to get drivers or something like that? Or is there any notifications or prompts by F-Secure about?

How do I pause f.secure so I can install the printer?

You can use 'turn off all security features' (temporarily). This is not, actually, recommended - but the guide is available there: Turning off all security features | Total | Latest | F-Secure User Guides

    Thanks!
