theoverheat.com notifications

Hi
My son has in the last couple of days received multiple notifications coming through from theoverheat.com advising his system is compromised and to click and download various tools. He/we have not done anything untoward so not sure where this has come from. Looks like I have managed to block the notifications for the moment and have run a scan and nothing is found but not sure if I have indeed resolved it for him.
anyone else had this or have any recommendations?
thanks

Hi @MarkBr
Welcome to the F-Secure Community. Thank you for your post.
This seems to be some kind of aggressive notifications that are sent via notifications from your web browser. It might be a web site in cache memory or a fraudulent add-on.
Please proceed with these steps:
- Clear cache & cookies
- Manage extensions; please look up for any inconvenient extensions and uninstall it according to the instructions.
- If these fail, you may as well try to reset your web browser.
I hope it will help you.
Have a nice day.
Pawel
