F-Secure has started to block any sponsored listing on Google Chrome. The only work around is to disable the F-Secure extension. I would like to know if there is some way to keep the extension operational and allow the sponsored listings through.

    Found the "Unclick" adblocker for common ads in F-secure settings. Unclick and your hopefully back to previous function.

    Hello @AMartin @hbat @Suzukiman1000

    Welcome to the F-Secure Community. Thank you for your post.

    We have introduced a new feature in F-Secure Total and Internet Security known as the "Ad blocker." This feature is designed to enhance your browsing experience by blocking advertising content on websites, which not only makes it more difficult for them to track your online activity and location but also ensures a smoother browsing experience for you.

    By default, this feature is enabled in the app. However, if you encounter any issues with website loading, you have the option to disable this feature, as suggested by @hbat t. If you're unsure about how to do this, you can find step-by-step instructions in this helpful link: Blocking advertisements on websites | Total | Latest | F-Secure User Guides

    Additionally, our highly committed R&D team is actively working on resolving this issue. We've identified the root cause and are currently in the process of developing an update to rectify this situation. Stay tuned for the upcoming release.

    If you need any further assistance or have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to help.

    Thank you for choosing F-Secure, and we hope you have a fantastic day.

    I followed hbat's advice and found the new ad blocker feature and turned it off. A simple fix but it did take a while to get there.

    I'm surprised that F-Secure did not alert customers through their ISP rather than have them scratching their heads like me for the last couple of days.

    Hello @emakital @Andysalmo

    Welcome to the F-Secure Community. Thank you for your comment.

    @emakital

    We have tried to replicate the issue using Microsoft Edge on our end, however, it seems we couldn't encounter the problem you're facing. To assist you better, could you kindly provide us with the name of the F-Secure app you're using and its version number?

    @Andysalmo

    It might also be worthwhile to reach out to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to discuss this issue, as they might have insights that can help.

    Should you need any more assistance or have additional questions, please don't hesitate to let us know.

    Thank you, and have a great day.

    Hi,

    There was a bug in the last weeks extension version 5.0.79 that slipped through our testing and caused sponsored links to be blocked on search engine results when you clicked them.

    We released a fix yesterday (5.1.17), but this didn't solve the issue completely. We just found the root cause and are releasing a new fix still today (5.1.25). It can take a few days to go through the extension store verification process. Sorry for the inconvenience this caused.
