You can get the authentication code from your chosen authentication app on your phone or tablet. When you first enable 2-step verification, you need to use an authentication app to set it up. You can get the code from the same app.
Examples of commonly used authentication apps are Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile and Microsoft Authenticator.
- If you have set up a 2-Factor authentication (2FA) for your account, the recovery codes are the back-up access to your account. If you do not have these recovery codes and you can't generate code from the authentication app you have used, you will not be able to access your account.
