Hi @petergroft
Welcome to our Community page. Thank you for your post.
ZoneAlarm firewall blocks the FREEDOME TAP network driver from being installed. To resolve this issue, you will to either temporarily disable or uninstall ZoneAlarm Firewall from your computer so that Freedome TAP-Driver installation is successfully installed. Follow the steps below:
- Uninstall ZoneAlarm Firewall
- After ZoneAlarm is uninstalled, turn on the Windows firewall (this is highly recommended)
- Install F-Secure FREEDOME again
- Turn on the Freedome VPN protection
Once FREEDOME is installed on the computer, ZoneAlarm can be reinstalled.
Note: Steps have to be redone with the next FREEDOME upgrade since the TAP-Driver is reinstalled with each new Freedome version.
Kindly let me know if this helps.
Thank you and stay safe.

Sometimes FREEDOME VPN is not able to install the TAP driver it requires to work. The reason for the errors is that something in Windows is blocking FREEDOME VPN from creating the TAP driver to the system. Probably something from Windows Update is being (or has been) installed, and Windows is pending restart.

Peter
