The product contains a hotfix system that runs independently of the rest of the product, so that in case the primary update channel is broken, we still have a secondary channel to update the client.
Hotfix framework runs with 2 systems. One is part of the product and it runs roughly every 24 hours. Another one is using Windows Task Scheduling system and runs also roughly every 24 hours. When run, the hotfix system checks from our servers if there is a hotfix available and if so, it will apply it.
I don't know why your hotfix was rejected, please check the settings as administrator that you have not blocked scheduled tasks. But as said, there are 2 ways it runs and the other one should still work.

Hi TOM111, could you please create a bug ticket in https://beta.f-secure.com/ and also include your fsdiag file there? And also please enable the Debug logging beforehand.
My suggestion is that you had another software installed which used to block the scheduled task.
