    Release 18.2 beta 1 (build 41864)

    We are pleased to announce the availability of a new release of FS Protection for Mac. This update is available for download from My FS Protection and delivery to existing installations started yesterday.

    Highlights of this release include:

    • Performance improvements to on-demand malware scan
    • Profile name in the UI will be updated when changed in My FS Protection
    • Fixes an issue where Browsing protection in Safari would not function properly under certain circumstances
    • General stability and performance improvements

    If you experience any issues, please run the "Support Tool" in the Applications -> "fs protection" folder and submit a bug report with the file created to allow us to investigate the issue. For issues related to Browsing protection and Parental control, remember to include any URLs that reproduce the problem in your bug report. You may also submit false positives and uncategorized web pages directly to F-Secure Labs using https://www.f-secure.com/en/web/labs_global/submit-a-sample#sample-url

    Release 18.2 beta 2 (build 42386)

    We are pleased to announce the availability of a new release of FS Protection for Mac. This update is available for download from My FS Protection and delivery to existing installations started yesterday.

    Highlights of this release include:

    • Improvements for virus protection functionality (more comprehensive file analysis)
    • Optimizations on reputation services backend load
    • Fixes for large amounts of telemetry sent for the new Chrome/Firefox native messaging host
    • Optimized installation package size by removing unused kernel extensions away
    • Crash and stability fixes

    If you experience any issues, please run the "Support Tool" in the Applications -> "fs protection" folder and submit a bug report with the file created to allow us to investigate the issue.     Highlights of this release include:

    • On-demand scanning stability improvements (crash fixes)
    • Browsing Protection: improvements to layout of Yahoo.com (caused by safety rating injection)
    • Support Tool data collection improvements (collection of more detailed product diagnostics related to infection reporting)
    • Fixing an issue with menubar app not respecting custom language set in the System Preferences app (@66f2e490)
    • Adding logic for sending of product settings telemetry

    • Improved stability of Family Rules bedtime period activation
    • Adjusted safety rating injection for latest changes in Google page layout

    SAFE MAC 18.2 was released to production on 19th April. Current SAFE MAC 18.1 versions are automatically updated to this version in two weeks.

    Thanks for you feedback! Work continues with the 18.3.
