I have a small number of PC's with Freedome 2.42.736.0

One of them was updated yesterday and since then Freedome just keeps connecting.

I see there are older closed threads on this which suggest to flush dns cache and reinstall.

That sounds like beta level if a simple umpteenth update should still require that much effort.

    Hi @martink

    First check these:

    • Turn the FREEDOME protection off and on again
    • Try connecting to another FREEDOME location

Change the VPN protocol in use:

    1. Open F-Secure FREEDOME
    2. Go to Settings
    3. Click Choose VPN protocol
    4. Switch between OpenVPN and IKEv2
    5. Turn the VPN protection on

    Check:

    • Restart computer
    • Restart your network router
    • Try to connect with another internet connection entirely (share for example with mobile hotspot)
    • Make sure Windows is updated

Run the following command line commands:

    • ipconfig /flushdns
    • netsh winsock reset
    • netsh int ipv6 reset

After performing the above steps, try to turn the protection on and see if this works.

    Thank you Jaims.

Now I had two more PC's to act the same.

On one tried restarting Freedome and the computer.

After that resetting the network adapter allowed network connection with Freedome off

Freedome install just brought a white window and nothing further.

    Then

Run the following command line commands:

    • ipconfig /flushdns
    • netsh winsock reset
    • netsh int ipv6 reset

did the trick no reinstall needed.

Will try that on the the other two PC's as well.

Did not do it on the second PC.

Switching from IKEv2 to OpenVPN did it on the second PC.
