Release 18.0 beta 1 (build 38557)
We are pleased to announce a new release of FS Protection for Mac. This update is now available for download from My FS Protection and delivery to existing installations starts today.
New user interface
FS Protection now has a new user interface. It has been completely redesigned with emphasis on clarity and ease of use. It supports dark mode. The user interface bundle also runs safely in an app sandbox. Windows FS Protection users will find it familiar as a similar design is used there as well.
Mojave no longer supported
This version cannot be installed on Mojave anymore because the new user interface (SwiftUI) is not supported there.
Besides the above there are numerous bug fixes.
Known Issues
- Smart Task about full disk access does not consistently appear on Big Sur.
- Subview banner title in dark mode is shown inverted.
- New user interface is missing translations.

Hello, @XenoPhage!
According to our initial tests, the latest release of FS Protection indeed seems fine on macOS Monterey. No major concerns so far. We have verified the most crucial functionality on a M1 MacBook running Monterey. Though at the same time we are still assessing the full compatibility aspect.
We would appreciate any feedback or any new findings on FS Protection running on macOS Monterey.

We are pleased to announce a new release of FS Protection for Mac. This update is now available for download from My FS Protection and delivery to existing installations starts today.
This release includes bug fixes for:
- issue that prevented the upgrade from some of earlier FS Protection releases to the most recent one
- issue with main UI showing login page on the first start on the window after upgrade
- issue with credentials management required for backend communication
- issue with Support Tool app hanging during diagnostics collection on macOS Monterey
Known Issues
- Smart Task about full disk access does not consistently appear on Big Sur.
- Subview banner title in dark mode is shown inverted.
- New user interface is missing translations.
- Family Rules changes do not get automatically applied after changing them on the "My FS Protection" portal. The issue will be addressed in the next release.
- Main UI window might display a false error message about needing to restart if it was opened during upgrade. The issue will be fixed with the next release. Workaround: restart the main UI should fix it.
- Main UI might show the login page on the first start on the window after upgrade on macOS Monterey. The issue will be fixed in the future release. Workaround: restart the main UI window should fix it.

This release includes bug fixes for:
- Family Rules changes made on "My FS Protection" portal not being acknowledged by FS Protection
- Main UI login loop recovery in case of "My FS Protection" profile re-activation
- Fix for FS Protection causing a bug in Battery preference pane in System Preferences app not to work as expected
- A few adjustments for browser extension JavaScript code motivated by changes in Google search page structure.
