Hi! I’m a Mac used and Freedome takes ages to connect. I’ve un and re-installed it and sis the killswitch thing I fould on anotjer thread. Also, is it possible to change which servers it uses? It is very frustrating not to be able to switch servers if the current one is blocked ny a site. Feeling disappointed I chose this VPN over others.

    Hello @Missmeo !

Please follow the steps below to fully remove F-Secure FREEDOME VPN from your Mac before the re-installation process:

    1. Log on to your Mac as an Administrator.
    2. Open Terminal.
    3. Type in the following command: sudo /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.f-secure.fsvpn-service-helper.production --uninstall-app , and press Enter.
    4. Type in your Administrator password when asked.
    5. Restart your computer and install F-Secure FREEDOME VPN again.
    6. Check whether FREEDOME takes less time to connect to a virtual server.

Should the above fail, follow the steps below to manually remove Freedome.

    1. Go to Finder > Go > Go to folder... and manually remove the following files/folders:

    • /Applications/Freedome.app
    • /Library/Application Support/F-Secure/FSFreedome/
    • /Library/Logs/F-Secure/FSFreedome/
    • /Library/FSVpn/production
    • /Library/FSVpn/_fsvpn
    • /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.f-secure.freedome.uninstall.plist
    • /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.f-secure.fspvn-service.production.plist
    • /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.f-secure.fspvn-upstream.production.plist
    • /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.f-secure.fspvn-service-helper.production.plist
    • /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.f-secure.fspvn-service-helper.production
    • /Library/LaunchAgents/com.f-secure.freedome.gui.plist
    • ~/Library/Logs/F-Secure/FSFreedome/
    • /var/db/receipts/com.f-secure.freedome.app.plist
    • /var/db/receipts/com.f-secure.freedome.app.bom
    • /var/db/receipts/com.f-secure.freedome.fsvpn.plist
    • /var/db/receipts/com.f-secure.freedome.fsvpn.bom

    2. Remove Freedome preferences via Terminalsudo defaults delete /Library/Preferences/com.f-secure.freedome.plist

    3. Remove receipts via Terminal:

    • sudo pkgutil --forget com.f-secure.freedome.app
    • sudo pkgutil --forget com.f-secure.freedome.fsvpn

    3. Go to Finder > Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access > System and remove Your F-Secure Freedome Key entry.

Regarding the second question, yes you can change the location when F-Secure FREEDOME VPN is ON:

1.Open F-Secure FREEDOME and hover your mouse over the current location and click on it:

2.Change the location by clicking on one of the 3 recent locations....

3.... or click on "Location: XYZ" again to see the full list of available locations:
