E-mail Protection For Home User ?
Hi,
I am new to F-Secure SAFE. Just curious to know if it protects me from e-mail attacks, such as junk mail, on mail clients like outlook or will scan email traffics on ports such as 993, 465 as I didn't see relevant options in settings. I am a heavy user of email. Would be grateful if someone could tell me.
Thanks.

Hello,
I am only an F-Secure user (their home solutions).
if it protects me from e-mail attacks, such as junk mail, on mail clients like outlook or will scan email traffics on ports such as 993, 465 as I didn't see relevant options in settings
Current F-Secure SAFE (Windows) is not about any certain extension for mail client or module for e-mail protection (such as spam protection or so).
Most of current mail clients should be with enabled encryption. So, it is tricky (and unwanted) to scan email traffics or to perform filtering by third party security solution.
Kind of an explanation was under Business solutions discussion:
I think that it is common for business and home solutions.
In general, F-Secure SAFE still protects against known malicious and harmful items. Thus, when application / executable file or certain script (just what can be an attachment) is launched - F-Secure SAFE should to analyze it. And there are some layers and modules that can be useful against entire landscape. First of all, Browsing protection against known suspicious and harmful websites. Then, some tweaks over the Windows Firewall; Real-time scanning and F-Secure DeepGuard.
But, all in all, good to avoid clicking and opening suspicious mail letters. Since there can be vulnerable design of something or harmful item is unknown yet for detection logic.
In addition, if your experience is about mail clients for "web-based" mail services (not as your own server) - then some filtering and protection against junk mails can be on their side.
Otherwise, maybe good to configure something under your own setting (maybe, mail client is included there. If it supports any spam rules or so).
Sorry for my reply. And sorry for my English.
Good if anyone with more experience will add something.
Also good if you will back with feedback if something start be more clear or not.
Thanks!

Yes, it is! Sorry for the long reply.
I decided to expand my understanding just in case if your ask was not completely generic (and it was not so; except for the title).
