There seems to be mixed responses from a Google search as to whether it's a virus or not.  Have you tried removing it in Safe Mode?  Otherwise, it might be worth a scan with Malwarebytes as that can sometimes find things AV software doesn't.

    Hello @marnur

Would it be possible for you to upload the sample to our virus lab?

We have a Sample Analysis Department (SAS) to help verify these files. Kindly send these samples for verification to our SAS team. They will then liaise the issue with you directly. Please go to the link below.

It seems I lost a letter in name. It is gtSetup.exe, so I think it is a known one. I will try safe mode, when I am using that laptop again.

    Hello,

I am only an F-Secure user (their home solutions).

Safe can not remove harmful gSetup.exe ?! Is there a sulution?

But you did not add some information about.

For example, why F-Secure SAFE can not remove "gtsetup.exe"?

    - Item is detected, but removal process is rejected / denied / uncompleted?

    - Or item is not detected at all?

    - Or after removal - harmful item is reappeared then?

If file is known and detected, but file is archived or zipped - then it can be a reason for ignoring deleting or removing it. More information about:

And if so - to delete entire archive manually is an option.

Otherwise all other replies are good suggestions with good advices.

    Thanks!

    Jaims
