Re: F-Secure Safe and F-Secure Anti-Virus

Well, here's a question: I'm using 'F-Secure Anti-Virus' on my MAC, but I read on F-Secures website and on this thread that it's only compatible with Windows? 

I'm using MacOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra).

How is this possible?

Is my Mac properly secure?? 😬

Perhaps, an explanation is next:

 

-> Current (up-to-date and offered) "F-Secure Anti-Virus" solution is only for Windows platform. As "F-Secure Internet Security" too.

Supported platforms: Windows 7 (SP1) or later. ARM-based tablets are not supported.

 

-> Previously there was a solution "F-Secure Anti-Virus" that was combined subscription / package for "F-Secure AV" and "F-Secure AV for Mac".

So, maybe, your subscription / licence is for "F-Secure AV" version that was with supported platforms Windows and Mac.

 

I am not sure, but maybe this version is a bit "outdated". And I thought that maybe only until certain macOS. Then, solution is "replaced" by F-Secure SAFE (where Mac platform is supported).

For example, current F-Secure SAFE with requirement for "macOS 10.12 (Sierra) and higher".  Sounds that your OS build is higher. F-Secure SAFE under MacOS, probably, with more features and functionality than previous "F-Secure AV for Mac". It is possible to read, for example, Knowledgebase about solution and Online Help:

However, if it is only one device (or all devices are Mac) - then "F-Secure AV for Mac" is much more suitable subscription, of course.

to check what is your version / build;

Yes, I recall buying something that sounded like 'F- Secure Anti-Virus for Mac'?

So guess the ones that have it, still can continue with it (I just renewed mine), but not offered to any "new joiners"? 😏

I'm pretty sure you'll be using the Mac version, otherwise it wouldn't have installed on your machine.
