can't even install product

Got the product from chip, activated it and stuff and everytime I want to install it it says it's not working. It told me to uninstall my old antivirus software which I did, but that didn't help at all.

 

I thought the servers may be overrun since I had to wait pretty **bleep** long for my confimation mails too, but that was 2 days ago.

 

It starts downloading or checking stuff (not sure it goes through pretty fast) and in the end tells me that neither of the 2 products was installed, which is family manager (which I realy don't need) and the virus protection.

 

What am I doing wrong?

Sorry for my reply. I am only an F-Secure user (their home solutions).

 

Some things to check and try:

->> good to run specific Uninstallation tool (removal tool or cleanup tool) for your previous security software.

->> good to run F-Secure own tool before further try to install it.

Possible to restart system between tries.

Is it only output? Or it is part of request to uninstall your another software?

Yes that's the only output I get. I'll try the tools tomorrow thanks in advance for that

 

My OS is Windows 8 on an Acer Laptop, and I noticed I'm still using malware bytes, not sure if that interacts with it as well since it's only for malware scans but I'll try uninstalling this too.

 

Will update tomorrow if it worked or not.

There was discussion about Acer Laptops and preinstalled McAfee solution.

For example, if your experience is also about such configuration (when laptop with preinstalled McAfee security solution) - it is pretty likely that good to use McAfee Removal Tool.

Because even after normal McAfee uninstallation (by Windows Control panel) - MCPR was only solution for successful F-Secure installation.

Likely that Malwarebytes can be marked as "incompatible" software. In general, it is possible to reinstall Malwarebytes later (and check if something wrong with F-Secure or with Malwarebytes).
