Information about Geinimi malicious code

Hello everyone!!! 

I'm a student in UPM university in Madrid and I have to do a research about Geinimi. I'm trying to find out who was its author (if known) and where was it created. 

Also, if you know anybody who was infected with Geinimi, I would like to know the story.

Finally, does anyone know if those webpages were closed or if those apps were deleted?
