Hello,
F-Secure, usually, will install extension/add-on automatically.
Did you mean that your experience about manual try to install extension-file to Firefox? And does it Windows platform?
If yes -> does it possible to re-check experience with built-in F-Secure 'reinstallation addon'-functionality.
Or your experience about autoinstallation addon by F-Secure?
Also, otherwise, maybe some Firefox tweaks are needed (for allowing manual installation).
Thanks!

Hello,
So, sorry for my reply. I'm also only F-Secure user (their home solutions). And I'm not really friendly with Mac-platform and F-Secure design on Mac platform.
Based on this Online Documentation:
There is button ''Install browser extension''. So, does your experience about such button and next FIrefox's notification?
If yes -> maybe it is possible to re-check such Firefox discussions:
where was different 'sort'-steps. at least, it sounds as global design for Firefox -> and maybe can be useful to re-check with your situation
// I found that noted articles were about 'downloaded' (but not 'installed').
So, maybe if normal F-Secure design does not work. Maybe -> possible to find under your system '.xpi'-file (if it is existed) as F-Secure Browsing Protection addon. And re-try to add it manually to Firefox (like drag'n'drop, for example). Just like another suggestion -> some software/tool will prevent installation addon each time when you tried so.
An option is contact direct F-Secure Support Channels (chat as example):
https://www.f-secure.com/en/web/home_global/contact-support
Sorry for my long reply (and some edititions).
Thanks!
