Limited speed

The TAP driver says the speed is 100/100. Why is the speed limited in the driver? I have 500 mb. såeed but get only 100 and the driver spesification tells 100/100. So how to change this to better speed?

Hello Lotto, 

 

This  is because OpenVPN TAP driver(which we are using) has been coded to report itself as 100mbit network device. We have in practice observed over 100mbit/s speed. 

 

Are you all the time below this speed?

I can get up to about 110 mbps but that is far below my real speed. So the question is if there is a real speed limiter in the TAP driver.

I have reported this internally to be investigated further.

Still no solving answer from you, but my speed has increased a bit, but is stioll 1/3 of real speed from my ISP. Maybe the problem is with your server partners? Do you make agreements with your partners about speed?

We indeed have agreements with our partners. We monitor as well the speed on all our exit points.
