What does the F-Secure SENSE Router app do? Standalone version of F-Secure SENSE Router
F-Secure SENSE Router uses a three-layer protection system consisting of the SENSE Router, the SENSE Router app, and the F-Secure Security Cloud.
Within this three-layer system, the SENSE Router app has several functions depending on whether you are using the standalone version of F-Secure SENSE Router or F-Secure SENSE Router offered with F-Secure TOTAL.
The SENSE Router app has the following functions:
- As the admin app, it is required for the set-up and configuration of SENSE Router.
- It enables constant monitoring of your network. Unlike other routers, SENSE Router does not have a web interface. Access to the router is gained solely via the admin app, making it convenient for you to access your SENSE network information wherever you are.
- It provides on-the-go protection for supported devices that go outside the SENSE network.
- It adds an extra layer of protection within your SENSE network for those devices that can run the app. With the SENSE Router app installed on your Windows PC and Mac, the app provides protection for your Windows PC and Mac devices against malware distributed, for example on a USB memory stick.
