Unable to install Browsing Protection by F-Secure on Safari browser - F-Secure Community
<main> <article class="userContent"> <h3 data-version="8" data-article="000002125" data-id="issue">Issue:</h3> <p>Unable to install Browsing Protection by F-Secure browser extension on a Safari browser on a Mac computer. </p> <h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution:</h3> <p>Apple has introduced some security measures affecting all Safari extensions that are installed locally. This affects not only F-Secure's browsing protection extension, but also other Safari extensions. To solve these issues and enable the installation of the browser extension, check the following:<br><br><b>Scenario 1:</b><br></p><ol><li>Make sure that you are not using a remote connection and/or screen sharing</li><li>Re-install the browsing protection safari extension</li><li>When prompted by the Safari browser, click <strong>Trust</strong></li></ol><b>Scenario 2:</b> <ol><li>Check in <strong>System Preferences</strong> > <strong>Security & Privacy</strong> > <strong>Privacy</strong> > <strong>Accessibility</strong> to remove or disable 3rd party accessibility software</li><li>Re-install the browsing protection safari extension</li><li>When prompted by the Safari browser, click <strong>Trust</strong></li></ol><b>Scenario 3:</b> <ol><li>Check in <strong>System Preferences </strong>> <strong>Keyboard </strong>> <strong>Shortcuts</strong> > <strong>Full keyboard access</strong> to enable full keyboard access</li><li>Re-install the browsing protection safari extension</li><li>When prompted by the Safari browser, click <strong>Trust</strong></li></ol><p>If you have checked these scenarios, but none of them have helped, then start up or restart your Mac in Safe Mode by pressing and holding down the <strong>Shift</strong> key.</p> <p>Safe Mode performs certain checks and can help to pinpoint the source of the issue.</p> <p>Article no: 000002125</p> </article> </main>
