What is Banking Protection and how does it work? Banking Protection adds another layer of security when banking online or when entering other types of sites that contain sensitive information.
When Banking Protection is turned on in the product, every website that you enter is checked by querying our Security Cloud. By carrying out this check, Banking Protection receives the information whether the site is listed as one of our trusted banking sites or not. If it is, Banking Protection deems the site safe to enter.
Note: To benefit from the Banking Protection feature on mobile devices, SAFE Browser needs to be in use. On computers, Browsing Protection requires that the Browsing Protection extension is turned on in the web browser that you use.
Banking Protection on Windows
Banking Protection offers an elevated level of security on Windows computers. Once you have started an online banking session on your PC, Banking Protection gets activated automatically and disconnects all untrusted applications from the internet and prevents them from reconnecting while on the trusted banking site.
Blocking connections prevents hijacking of your banking sessions keeping your money safe. It is also only possible to access websites that are considered safe during a banking session, otherwise they get blocked.
When you finish your online banking session and close the browser or enter another site, Banking Protection automatically detects that the banking session is over and ends the session.
