2012 internet security cannot install

I have been trying to install for 3 days and keep getting the response could not finish install due to some problems, installation failed.

How can I get this to install I am missing something??

I also went into safe mode to try and install and it won't even start the installer.

I am running vista 32

    Hi amos,

     

    Kindly check if the Base Filtering Services is running by follow the guide here. Installation cannot be done in Safe Mode as most of the required services would not be started.

    I checked for base filtering service and there is none listed. what next??

    I reinstalled bfe and tried to install internet security again still fails to install.

    Hi amos,

     

    We would need a bit more informations to continue.

     

    - Does the BFE service started and running?

    - Your Windows OS is 32-bits or 64-bits?

    - What is the exact error message?

    - Download and run the EasyClean to ensure that your system is clean.

    its a 32bit machine,vista. I was infected and since been cleaned, but still have some issues like windows update will not work, firewall will not turn on.

    I ran your scanner but still cannot in stall the software.

    when it fails it says"there were some issues durning installation" installation failed..

    bfe is running.

    Hi amos,

     

    Please try these steps:

    1. Create a new user account with Administrator privilege.
    2. Logon to new user created.
    3. Test does the Windows Firewall and Windows Updates working.
    4. If yes, download and run the F-Secure Uninstallation tool to clean up the F-Secure software / files from your computer. 

    5. Ensure that all these Windows Updates is installed:

    -  DotNet Framework 4.0.

    - Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package.

    - Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package.

    - Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package.

    6. Reinstall the F-Secure Internet Security 2012 in the new user account.

    update i  cannot download the installer i get an error on the license page saying failed to connect to 127.0.0.1

    this is not good

    Hi amos,

     

    What is the error message when try to start the Windows Firewall and Windows Updates? Try to look in EventViewer & let us know what error code was generated.

     

    Please check in Registry (Open regedit):

    Do a backup of your registry before making any changes.

     

    - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    Any unrecognised entry? Remove it.

     

    - HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\
    Is there any entry listed? Remove it.

    Hi amos,

     

    1. Reset the HTTP proxy:
    - Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Anvanced > Reset Internet Explorer Settings.

     

    2. Change DNS IPs to Google DNS or Open DNS.
    - Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
    - Open DNS: 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220

    the error code from windows update was 80246008 encountered an unknown error. Was not sure where to look in the event viewer.

    In the registry what am i looking for in the first part.

    The other had several items but did not remove them yet.

    how do you bakup the registry?

    I got win update to work by reinstalling the bits in the registery, now my puter is upto date as far as windows is concerened.

    I still can't get f-secure to install.

    Windows defender and firewall are working also.

    More help needed.
