Hello everyone,
I am looking for the original F-Secure installer for Mac, version 26.4, preferably build 68505, as a .pkg or .mpkg file.
I need this version for a Mac running macOS 12 Monterey, because newer F-Secure versions are no longer supported on that system. The current F-Secure download link only provides the latest version or returns an “AccessDenied” error.
Does anyone still have the original, unmodified installer in their Downloads folder or in a backup?
I am only looking for the officially signed F-Secure installer, not a modified or cracked version. A SHA-256 checksum or a link to an official archive source would also be very helpful.

Even if you were able to get the previous installer, wouldn't it check for an update while installing, and try to download the most recent version and give you an error? Also, if you were to get it installed without an error notification, it would eventually automatically update to the newest version, and probably give you an error as well for the unsupported OS?
There isn't the option within the app to only download signature updates, and not build updates. At least this is how it works and functions on Windows PC's.

thanks for pointing that out. You may be right, but as you mentioned, your experience is based on the Windows version. I would still like to test the original macOS 26.4 installer to see how it behaves on Monterey.
If it immediately forces an update during installation, or later updates itself to an unsupported version, then of course it would not solve the problem. But without the original installer, I cannot verify that.
Do you know for certain whether the macOS version also automatically installs build updates, or are you assuming that it works in the same way as the Windows version?

I'm assuming it's along the same lines as the Windows version, in how it updates itself.
It may be something that is very short lived, if you were able to install it successfully.
You could get ahold of support and run it by them, just to maybe save yourself some time or expectations that may not be met?

Do you have any old installer?
I mean, sounds as their .dpkg installer quite heavy (compared to Windows network installer) - so - maybe should not update itself per launch as Windows-based installers do. And if you do have any even 'older' installers - maybe it can be enough. Then installation will try to update itself to the 'latest' available stuff for your system (like to 26.4).
But I would assume there should be some restrictions on such scenarios.
And on the subject: I sometimes download Mac installers as a keepsake and just for fun, but I don't think I've saved this exact build/version.

.pkgor.mpkginstaller available.I understand that the application might try to update itself after installation. However, I would still like to test the original macOS installer on Monterey instead of assuming that it behaves in the same way as the Windows network installer.
If you have any archived F-Secure Mac installers from around that release period, could you please check their version or build number? A SHA-256 checksum or a link to an official archive source would also be very helpful. I am only interested in the original, unmodified and officially signed installer.

I would strongly recommend contacting F-Secure’s official support directly and asking them to provide the correct installer for macOS 12 Monterey.
Since this is security software, obtaining the package from an unofficial mirror or an unknown file-sharing source would carry unnecessary risk. F-Secure Support should be able to confirm whether version 26.4, preferably build 68505, is still available and provide either the original installer or an official download link.
You could specifically ask them for:
- the original F-Secure for Mac 26.4 installer;
- build 68505, if still available;
- a digitally signed
.pkgor.mpkgpackage; - confirmation that it is compatible with macOS 12 Monterey;
- and, if possible, the official SHA-256 checksum or signing-certificate details.
This would be the safest way to ensure that the installer is genuine, unmodified and officially signed by F-Secure.

thank you for the suggestion. I had already contacted F-Secure Support before opening this thread. Unfortunately, they only provide the current installer and were unable to offer an older version such as 26.4 / build 68505.
That is exactly why I am asking here whether someone may still have the original, officially signed installer in an old Downloads folder or backup.

Thank you for clarifying. Since you have already contacted F-Secure Support and they were unable to provide the older installer, your request here is understandable.
You are also right that the macOS installer should not automatically be assumed to behave in the same way as the Windows network installer. Testing the original 26.4 package would be the only reliable way to confirm whether it installs on macOS 12 Monterey and whether it later attempts to update itself to an unsupported version.
If anyone is able to provide the installer, I would recommend verifying it before use by checking:
- the Apple Developer ID signature;
- the signing certificate details;
- the package integrity with
pkgutil; - the SHA-256 checksum;
- and Gatekeeper or notarization status.
Ideally, the checksum should be confirmed by more than one independent source. Testing the installer first on a non-critical Mac or a separate test volume would also be advisable, since it is security software and may install system extensions or background services.
I hope someone still has the original 26.4 / build 68505 package archived and can provide the relevant verification details.
