Where is my internet browser?

Since today my internet browser of f secure is gone. I only have VPN, adjustment/menu and ID protection. The browser icon changed into menu/adjustments logo.

I don't get any wiser on the helpdesk page or what so ever. And now I had to download Chrome to use internet.

Help please!

    Hi @Miepie

    Could you post an image of what you're seeing on your end, please? :) The icon to upload an image is at the bottom of the post box. Are you using it on Windows, or on a phone, and F-Secure's Safe Browser is gone?

    It used to be a world globe icon. But now it's the f-secure F.

    When I open the app I only find adjustment/menu options.

    I even can't find it on the play store.

    I use this on my Samsung a55. I have this phone for over a year now and never had any troubles.

    @Miepie Thanks for the image post. That looks right, as far as the icon and what I have. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A35 5G. F-Secure version 25.9.0137141.

    When I open the app, this is the screen, and when I scroll down have the other options, and the settings when I click the top right "person" icon. Does that work on your end?

    Are you able to open the app to run a scan? Otherwise, I'm not sure about the icon change?

    I have been trough all options and I have no clue where to look or what I missed. I remember that I had to download the browser separately. But that has been years ago, so I'm not sure anymore if that is the good memory. :-)

    ✅ What’s happening with the missing F-Secure browser?

    Several F-Secure users have reported that the Safe Browser icon has disappeared from Android devices (including Samsung phones).
    This is expected behavior after recent updates.

    📌 Key facts

    • F-Secure has integrated the Safe Browser into the main F-Secure app.
      There is no longer a separate “globe” browser icon.
    • The browser and Banking Protection now run inside the main app, not as a standalone app.
    • On some devices, depending on Android version and app version, the browser appears only as:
      • Browsing Protection
      • Web Protection
      • Scam Protection
      • or inside the main app’s menu

    📱 Why the icon changed

    The blue globe icon was removed and replaced by the generic F-Secure “F” icon, because there is no separate browser app anymore.

    🧭 What you should do

    1. Open the main F-Secure app
      Look for sections such as:
      • Browsing protection
      • Banking protection
      • Safe browsing
        These features now replace the old Safe Browser app.
    2. Check the Play Store
      Make sure you have the latest version of F-Secure installed.
    3. Verify permissions
      Go to
      Settings → Apps → F-Secure → Permissions
      and allow:
      • Notifications
      • Display over other apps
      • Accessibility (if required for protection)
    4. No separate browser in Play Store

    Hello,

    Sorry for the comment. I haven't used the app (I don't know how things work internally; and if there is still a way to use some 'browser' functionality), but I recently updated beta F-Secure app on a test device, and the comment on the latest version mentioned that Safe Browser was no longer available (removed from the package). Or something like that ("Safe Browser has been removed" for example).

    I likely didn't take into account the fact that my experience was about beta product and mentioned it as fact here; I see there's no mention of such a thing for the recent stable release in Google Play. But perhaps related changes occurred in the stable version as well.

    However, I do not know what options remain in place of the safe browser in the beta app (I only updated and did not use it). But my idea is that your experience is likely normal.
