How can I print to a printer connected to my local area network, while I am using F-Secure FreeDome VPN?

Now it seems I have to discontinue using VPN in order to print.

    Hello @PetteriPunakuono ,

    thank you for contacting us!

On which device is the problem occurring? Is it on a mobile device or on your PC?

When you connect to a VPN, the VPN software establishes a dedicated connection known as a tunnel to the VPN server in the FoxyProxy network. This re-routing of data to a remote network may make it very difficult to access local network resources such as printers and routers.

Here I have described how to add a local network as trusted to the program. Please follow the steps and try again.

    1. Open F-Secure FREEDOME user interface
    2. Turn OFF the VPN protection
    3. Go to Settings
    4. Enable Automatic killswitch
    5. Click Allow connections to other devices in trusted networks
    6. Select the network used in Trusted networks dialog
    7. Click Save

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Best regards! :)

I have set up F-Secure. I have difficulty using many apps. Also I cannot print on my wirelessly connected printer. I have iPhones, iPads and a MacBook Air. All are using the latest OS versions.

It’s very frustrating, especially for family members who are not very digitally savvy.

The F-Secure VPN seems to be the source of troubles I cited above. If I turn the VPN off, apps work as expected; turn VPN on and most apps complain they are not connected to the internet.

I will likely not renew my subscription.
