Some pages can't establish secure connection behind SENSE router

I can't establish a secure connection to https://stats.foldingathome.org, no matter which browser I use. I tried Firefox, Chrome and Edge.

I tried these usecases, which show that the router IMHO must be the problem:

Laptop (Win10), SENSE application enabled - no connection

Laptop (win 10), SENSE application active, but all security disabled - no connection

Laptop (Win 10), SENSE application deinstalled - no connection

Mobile device, on WiFi and behind SENSE router - no connection

Mobile device, on mobile data and thus not behind SENSE router - bingo, connection

I have not encountered this problem on any other website so far.
