Hi,   We had an outage with our North American servers approximately today (2019-05-23) between 01:40 - 06:00 UTC. While there were some servers at our North American locations that worked during that time, the majority of the servers were unavailable - and likely the ones which worked were slower than usual.    Once we found the issue causing this, the servers were brought back online and now they're working normally again. Hi,   We identified the problem that affected some of our users using Finland as their virtual location, especially in the evenings (Finnish time). We did some maintenance last night and now these performance / packet loss issues with our Finnish servers should be history.    If you still experience those problems after this, we would love to hear about them so that we could investigate this case further.    We also added this week a bunch of new servers to our Swedish location to serve our customers better there too.      Tapio ... Thank you for the data that you sent. The Freedome app version on your device is very old; after its release we've released 20 new updated versions of it already. It also predates Android 5 beta release, so it hasn't been tested on that platform at all.   We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version from Google Play Store and try again with that.   ... Hi,   It looks like some Swedish sites that make geolocation checks before allowing the content to be displayed, do have outdated or just incorrect information about our IP addresses in their geoIP databases. All the major IP geolocation databases have the location correctly set for Sweden for our Swedish IP addresses - for example when you check our addresses using http://www.iplocation.net/ or http://www.whatismyip.com/ you'll see that all those point to Sweden and the RIPE database has the country also set as SE, i.e. Sweden.   Unfortunately there isn't much that we can do about this. Hello,   We are very sorry to hear about these problems you've had recently with the geolocation services.   This geolocation problem with our UK virtual location started when we added capacity to there about a week and a half ago. At this time we got new IP addresses for our new servers there. These new IP addresses we received from our provider were apparently previously assigned to Swiss and/or Dutch companies, as they were registered in the geoIP databases to those countries.   At fiorst, we had some technical difficulties with setting the correct location in the RIPE databases - the databases which the geoIP providers use to get their geolocation data here in Europe. We were able to update the RIPE on Thursday-Friday night last week.   It seems that almost all the geoIP providers have updated their databases over the weekend as they now point our UK IP addresses correctly to the UK. We've been able to find that one service that still believes our addresses reside in Switzerland but it looks like they provide updates only monthly to their customers.  Apparently BBC is using a service still points our IP address to Holland. We hope that they'll get the updated information soon. That should solve the access problems.   GeoIP services are a bit problematic, as we cannot directly affect to them except by making sure the data in the RIPE and other similar databases (RIPE is for Europe, there are similar databases for other parts of the world) is correct for our IP addresses. After that it is up to the geoIP providers to make sure the data they're selling to their customers is valid.
