Security on Windows 10 and Defender

I've been a Mac user for so long. I still have my MacBook Air from 2013. But recent issues I had with the ecosystem has prompted me to buy a windows laptop. I still miss a lot of things on my Mac. But I am happy with the stability Windows 10 provides. Fast updates for newly uncovered vulnerabilities are great. While using a Mac I never really had to worry about security,(I know there are Viruses that affect Macs, but still the count is really low) whereas my company had hired this cyber security solution. So will the Windows defender be enough? Is there a need for a separate antivirus software on Windows 10?

Hello,

In short: no (Windows Deender is not enough); yes (there a need for good third-party security software on Windows 10);

I'm only F-Secure user (their home solutions) and my opinion can not be too much interesting for you -> but if you would like -> I'm able to increase my feelings from "In short" to more 'reasoned' view. Like start kind of discussion (although I feel that this should be discussed many times by many experts and their opinions more interesting for you; but I did not research about such potential publications or articles... so, not sure a little be).

Thanks!

I have had good luck with F-Secure over many years. It is still near the top of independent reviews.
