lan sharing

Can you implement easy to use - checkbox in firewall setting for people who want to share folders / printers in lan?

Creating custom rules is very unconvient and most average joe's wouldn't find how to do that..

Re: lan sharing

Hi,

printer and filesharing profile is already implemented (in TP38)

A "one-click" feature would require that changing this happens very often. But either you have an office environment then you activate it once or you are a mobile user, then you will most likely NOT share printers and folders to anyone!

If you are a professional user, then head for Client security and then be able to switch these profiles automatically based on your environment.

Re: lan sharing

Yup,

no I see that there is indeed a profile in firewall to allow file/printer sharing. In one of previous beta that I had it hadn't so thaks for update.

Anyway for me it's ok, but I still belive that "averange joe" will never go to firewall tab to see if its on or off Smiley Very Happy

Re: lan sharing

Average user should not dig into networking, if they do not understand the security impact. There is a good reason why even MS firewall denies access to local shares by default!
