Freedome cannot establish
a VPN connection through a Sagemcom modem
Freedome cannot establish a VPN connection through a Sagemcom modem when using
Freedome on Apple iPad or iPhone.
Some Internet Service
Providers, including the Finnish ISP called DNA, distribute Sagemcom modems to
their customers. Some of the Sagemcom modems prevent VPN solutions such as
Freedome from working; at least models 3284DC and 3686AC are affected.
By default, the modem prevents
the IPSec connections required by the iOS version of Freedome. Android, Windows
and Mac versions of Freedome work without issues through the modem.
To solve the problem, do as
Log in to the Sagemcom
modem with its admin account.
Advanced page in
the modem settings and select the
Save the settings.
Now the Freedome VPN
connection works also through the Sagemcom modem.
