Freedome and Whatsapp

Hi,

I have recently notice issues with Whatsapp while using Freedome. I have iPhone 6S and for example if I lock the screen while whatsapp is still open and later unlock the screen the VPN sign won't appear to the screen until I open the Freedome app. Also because of this some of the whatsapp messages will pop up to my phone hours after someone has send them to me. This is really annoying because now I need to check my whatsapp from time to time because I can't trust that I have received all the messages which were sent to me. Do you have any idea what might cause this problem and if you do when can we expect fix for this.
