Note: This article is valid for you only if you are using the standalone version of F-Secure SENSE (not part of the F-Secure TOTAL package).
F-Secure SENSE uses a three-layer protection system consisting of the SENSE router, the SENSE app, and the F-Secure Security Cloud. The F-Secure SENSE app provides extra security features to protect your devices both at home and on the go.
If you have other F-Secure products installed and have purchased SENSE or are thinking of purchasing SENSE, please consult this guidance on their compatibility with the SENSE app.
Note: At present, the SENSE app is only available in English.
For Windows PC and Mac users of SAFE, keep F-Secure SAFE installed. On your Windows PC and Mac, you do not need to install the SENSE app. The SENSE app and SAFE both give you comprehensive protection against online threats, but SAFE contains a few extra features such as additional family protection.
For Android users of SAFE, you only have to install the SENSE app if you wish to use that device to set up and manage your SENSE network. If you only wish to protect that device, you do not need to install SENSE, and can keep using the SAFE app for protection.
For iOS (iPhone and iPad) users of SAFE, you only have to install the SENSE app if you wish to use that device to set up and manage your SENSE network. If you only wish to protect that device, you do not need to install SENSE, and can keep using the SAFE app for protection.
Note: During the time between uninstalling INTERNET SECURITY and installing the SENSE app, we advise you to browse the web with caution, as your computer may be vulnerable to threats.
You can continue using FREEDOME alongside the SENSE app to protect your privacy on all supported devices.
Note: Android users must turn FREEDOME off momentarily during setup while pairing their device with the SENSE router, and when you want to access the SENSE app. Alternatively, Android users can whitelist their SENSE WiFi network by adding it to the FREEDOME Trusted Wi-Fi networks.
If you have purchased F-Secure TOTAL, you can continue using SAFE and FREEDOME.

Note: If you already have SENSE in use and buy F-Secure TOTAL, we can connect your SENSE subscription to your TOTAL home protection.
